Kettle and Canyon is a compilation of stories, recipes, and reviews that reflect on my personal experience in the Rocky Mountains. I have learned how to can, render elk lard, bake pies, process wild game, cook wild game, and am learning how to hunt big game and fly fish.
Throughout the past decade, I have made quite a few mistakes on my homesteading quest (canning Anazai beans too long, using elk lard in a fruit pie, giardianeria - period) and I hope to share my knowledge with you. I know I have a lot more to learn and look forward to the adventure.
This blog is also an exercise in pushing my own limits, trying new things that scare me, and reporting back to the world.
